Monday 1st December, a day after the Mumbai attacks were over. People had gone through many emotions, sad memories and were shakily starting all over again.
It was on this Monday that that heavens chose to smile down. Astronomically speaking, there was an event where the brightest objects of the evening sky; the moon, Venus and Jupiter were at their closest in the sky. So yet another of those astronomical events.
Poetically though it meant so many things to so many people. Most noticed a smile in the evening sky. As if the heavens were passing on a message down to mankind a day after the bloody attacks were over.
APOD (Astronomy photo of the day) maintained by NASA is the place where amateur astronomers from around the globe can display their love for astronomy and their passion with photography. Since years I have followed the wonderful photographs of the heavens put up there by wonderful people from the world over.
I would just like to post this wonderful sunset smile which is currently my background. Every time I see the smile, I go back to that Monday evening when the heavens smiled down.
Obviously since this is not my own, here is a link to give due credits to the original photograph.
