All is well !

Its that time of the year when its supposed to be winter and its also that time to catch up with friends over a beer or two on the catches and misses of the year gone by. And of course its Christmas time too.

And so it was this last few days. Catching up and fighting with really old friends and then drinking it up to forget it all. And catching up with a few good new friends and then drinking it up to remember it for time to come.

Yesterday 24-Dec was time spent with a few good ‘new’ friends. Coming  back home late, just in time to catch the wonderful scene of fellow Christian brethren adorning their lovely suits and dresses for the midnight mass. Its truly a wonderful sight to see so many people on the road and yet so disciplined by night. Driving ‘through’ the crowd watching as everyone is absolutely engrossed in a very happy conversation right on the middle of the road quite oblivious that the road was in fact made for cars to drive on. And its that unique and rare time of the year when no one on the road seems to take notice of the cars struggling to drive through and those inside the cars don’t take notice of all those happy conversations right on the road. No one honks, no one shouts, life slows down and I guess no one is in a rush to reach anywhere in anticipation of routine life the next day as has been the usual for the past 360 or so odd days. Its now time to revel and as they say ring out the old and ring in the new. Its another story that these days its the ringing of the mobile phones which seem to have taken over !

Orlem – Marve, the neighbourhood I stay in since the last year has a very strong catholic culture as is vakola, kalina where I spent the rest of the day today. And it is indeed very nice to see so much diversity.

The evening was spent watching Amir Khan’s latest produce “3 Idiots”. So 4 of us idiots spent some 3 odd hours along with another hundred or two idiots on the fifth row from the screen watching just 3 idiots. At the end of the show I was convinced that Amir Khan is going to have a couple of lakhs of idiots laughing away at the 3 idiots and paying him a lot of money while they are all at it. It is one of those classic Amir Khan anti-establishment movies which dares people to be different, to be sensitive and to be human first. And since there will be plenty of idiots doing that, I will spare his wonderful produce another ‘balatkar’ by reviewing it on my blog.

I would happily oblige if you succeed getting me in to a King (SR)Khan movie, and I succeed remaining sane through the show !

While I liked the central character of the movie which revolved around this fun loving guy who works from his essence. So many books by spiritual masters have written that if you apply your mind you create the problems of the world and if you flow with the essence that makes up the universe, the spirit within you, you are in harmony and flow with the spirit of the universe. You do not have to plan as you move as per the univeral plan. All you need to do is flow with it in wonderment as the complex masterplan unfolds for each of us. This character taken up by Amir personifies this philosophy beautifully.

The only things which caused a twitch in my heart was that such a person was shown acting out the essence had in the backdrop a computer with Microsoft Windows on it and I could not fathom that this man of a hundred ideas had patents to his name. Mr. Amir Rancho Khan, I think you need a lesson in Opensource – a man flowing with the universal essence would sooner or later be drawn to it as it would flow as a natural thought from that omnipresent essence 😉

So here’s wishing a Merry Christmas to all who read this (and also all who do not) and also wishing them “All be well”

  1. It took an Amir Khan movie to get you to do some composition. You will need to look for some other inspiration, as the reclusive Khan is said to do only one movie per year… And we want you doing more blogs than that. 🙂
Good observation of the festive spirit and the live-and-let-live feeling amongst the motorists and the pedestrians.
As the year comes to a happy end, let us end with ‘AAL IZZZ WELLL’ !!!
